What are the Benefits of a Multi-Author Blog?
This is a good question so lets review some quick points. If you’ve ever tried to start a blog or if you have thought about it then you might already know it can be a lot of work. I’m not even talking about the initial phase of finding a host account, buying a domain name and installing WordPress or some other software. I’m talking about what comes after.
I’m talking about the daily grind of maintaining that blog. You might have the best looking blog and have great unique entertaining articles but that doesn’t mean people are just going to show up and read them. The Internet is huge and so now comes the tricky task of trying to optimize your blog for search engines. This is often referred to as SEO, Search Engine Optimization.
If you thought you were just going to spew out articles and be done you were wrong. So now you have to weigh the two elements to any successful blog. First, producing unique fresh content on a daily basis because search engines love to see new content every day. And Second, going through the drills of SEO including keyword optimization, link building and other networking strategies that attempt to intertwine your blog into the blogging community. At the end of the day this can be a lot of work so lets take a look at how a Multi-Author Blog can help relieve some of these stresses.
- Multiple sources of unique content means not only can a blog publish articles on a daily basis but we can do so from many unique angles. I might know nothing about the catacombs under Paris but someone who has been there can tell a whole different story.
- Increased Networking because now you have additional bloggers linking to their articles from social media sites that will eventually increase traffic to your pages as well. Hows that work? Lets say Author A writes about his trip to Africa and links to it from his facebook, twitter, stumble or whatever the case may be. Traffic starts to flow into his page and read the article. Now at the end of his article are links called “related posts” that are automatically generated. If Author B wrote a story a year ago about going to Africa his story will be listed not only giving him exposure but giving him exposure to old content that has likely been buried behind all his newer content. It’s easy to see how this sort of networking could provide a passive income for years even if you stopped writing.
- Not as much Pressure on you to write compelling material every day. Lets face it sometimes its just not flowing or maybe you need a vacation. Heck, maybe its just not in you to write something every day, maybe you rather write once a week or even once a month. Well, the once a month blogger is like the once a month plant water guy, it don’t work. Unless of course you have someone watering that plant or feeding your readers with fresh content while you are away. This is exactly the case with a Multi-Author Blog because your readers won’t be happy if your just throwing out fluff to keep them occupied. The combined effort of multiple authors ensures fresh well thought content on a dailey basis.
Happy Blogging!
