GUAP’s Terms of Use and Publishing Policy

GUAP is a social networking service for travelers, outdoor recreation enthusiast, travel writers and adventure goes from all walk of life.  Each member has a unique profile where they can share information about themselves, upload photos, submit articles (must request permission) and form new friendships with like minded individuals.  In doing so you acknowledge the following terms of condition and agree to abide by them at all times.

The Services offered by Gearupandplay.com (“GUAP” or “we”) include the Gearupandplay.com Website and all features, content and applications offered by Gearupandplay.com in connection with the Website.

Revenue Sharing

Members who publish to the blog are entitled to 100% of the Revenue generated from any Adsense Adverts shown along side his or her post.  The member is responsible for establishing his or her own Adsense account and acknowledges that GUAP has no affiliation or responsibility in helping you become approved.  Once approved it is the members responsibility to enter their Publishing I.D into the Admin Panel to secure the advertising space found alongside his or her post.

  • The member agrees not to click on his or her own advertising.  In addition you will not ask others to click on your advertising and you will not click on the advertising of other members unless a legitimate interest exist in the product or service being advertised.
  • Any Membership or participation in a surf /click exchange, surf for pay or click trading club either for your benefit or for the benefit of a third party while you are a member of GUAP is strictly prohibited.
  • You will Read and abide by all the Terms and Conditions set fourth by Google Adsense.

Content Publishing Policy

Rules on Article Submissions

  1. All Content in the form of article submissions must be written by you the author and you must retain the necessary rights to such content.  Copyright remains with you the author at all times.  Plagiarized (i.e. unauthorized copied) content is not allowed and will result in immediate termination.
  2. Article submissions must be unique (original) meaning it does not exist elsewhere on the web at the time of publication on GUAP.  As writers we understand the desire to syndicate your unique content to other media outlets such as Ezine, GoArticles, your own private blog, etc.  We encourage this but please wait one week after you publish on GUAP to syndicate your content.
  3. Previously Published content may be accepted at our discretion (usually not) and will likely not appear on our front page.
  4. All Content in the form of article submissions must be at least 500 words, contain 1-8 tags, and 1-3 categories.
  5. All Photos submitted alongside you article submissions should be owned by you or otherwise include links that credit the owner if permissible in the copyright or creative commons license.

Policy on Links Inside Article Submissions

  1. You are always allowed to credit a photo source with a link and the following rules do not apply to photo credits.
  2. You are allowed 1-2 Links per a article submission (photo credits not included) but the links must be relevant to the subject matter and non-commercial (personal, educational and research only).
  3. At all times Links inside the body of a article submission are only allowed if they are relevant to the topic or crediting a source or photo.
  4. NO AFFILIATE LINKS ALLOWED!
  5. Do not get overly promotional when linking from article entries.  Stay on topic and only include relevant and related links.

Additional Rules Governing Article Submissions

  1. All submissions must be in fluent English and use proper punctuation, grammar, and spelling.  Please avoid using all CAPS, excessive use of changing the background color or text font.
  2. Do not use excessive repetitive keyword stuffing techniques in the title, body or tags of your content.
  3. Do not submit content that promotes drug use or uses an excessive amount of swearing, violence or otherwise offensive subject matter.
  4. Do not submit any content or links to any type of pornography or gambling sites.
  5. Do not submit content that encourages or promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual.
  6. Do not submit content involving the transmission of  junk mail, chain letters, spamming or pyramid schemes. This includes sending unsolicited private messages to other members.
  7. Do not submit content advertising the sale of drugs (legal or otherwise), alcohol, tobacco products, weapons or imitation designer goods.
  8. Do not submit content that includes affiliate links of any kind as this will be rejected.

GUAP may delete any Content that in our sole judgment violates this Agreement or which may be offensive, illegal or violate the rights, harm, or threaten the safety of any person.  We assume no responsibility for monitoring the Users of GUAP for inappropriate Content or conduct. If at any time we choose, in our sole discretion, to monitor the Users, GUAP nonetheless assumes no responsibility for the Content, no obligation to modify or remove any inappropriate Content, and no responsibility for the conduct of the User submitting any such Content.

You may terminate your GUAP Membership at any time and for any reason.  Likewise, GUAP may terminate your Membership at any time and without warning.  Even after Membership is terminated, this Agreement will remain in effect.

Except for Content posted by you the author, you may not modify, copy, translate, publish, perform, display, transmit, distribute, broadcast or sell any Content appearing on or through the GUAP Community and its member pages.

GUAP may modify this Agreement from time to time and such modification shall be effective Immediately. You agree to be bound to any changes to this Agreement when you use Gearupandplay.com after any such modification is posted. It is therefore important that you review this Agreement regularly to ensure you are updated as to any changes.

Limitation on Liability. IN NO EVENT SHALL GEARUPANDPLAY.COM BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFIT
DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, EVEN IF GEARUPANDPLAY.COM HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY CONTAINED HEREIN, GEARUPANDPLAY.COM’S LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CAUSE WHATSOEVER AND REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF THE ACTION, WILL AT ALL TIMES BE LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT PAID, IF ANY, BY YOU TO GEARUPANDPLAY.COM FOR THE SERVICES DURING THE TERM OF MEMBERSHIP.
