Getting Started –  This FAQ Guide is to ensure you get the most of your Gear Up and Play Experience.  The Guide is broken down based on what you want to achieve on the site.  I want to be a Author, I want to Promote external content, I want to Book New Adventures and Find Deals on Outdoor Adventure Gear.

I want to be a Author

1.)  Can I be a Author? Yes, we do accept Guest Posts.  They must be relevant, well written and useful to our readers.  The content must be unique (not exist elsewhere on the web), original and owned by you the Author.  Copyright remains with you the author at all times.

Simply message me (must be logged in) if you wish to post to the blog and I will grant you proper permission.  If you have not created a account yet you can still reach me using the contact form (here) if you have questions about joining.

Your Guest Post can include both, a link to your profile here on the site where you can promote yourself further as well as a link inside the article to a relevant personal blog (travel, adventure, outdoor recreation).

2.)  What is the Writers Workshop?  The writers workshop is a group where writers can come together on the site and read up on useful information, share their own ideas and discuss writing.  Don’t be shy, start a new topic in the Writers Workshop now :)

3.)  Why am I ranked a Homebody and What are Ranks?  This is a fun way for us to engage community members, you get points by participating in forum discussions, uploading photos, submitting articles and simply interacting with others (comments etc).  Read this Post:  From Homebody to Travel Writer

4.) Can I include Links inside my post to external content if it’s not my personal blog? You may create links (maximum of two) to outside websites for non-commercial (personal, educational and research) purposes only.  You may also link to photo sources and of course, your personal blog.  For more info on publishing policy see our TOS.

I want to Promote External Content

1.) How can I use my Profile to Promote myself?  Use your wall to post status updates, photos, and share your latest travel plans and adventures!  Hover over your username in the members utility bar (top right) and select Edit My Profile.  This page includes a number of tabs including about me, my travels, social/contact, etc where you can enter your social networking sites and other useful information about you.

2.) How do I connect my Instagram Account to participate #rtwa Fridays?  Every Friday we create a post of member photos submitted via Instagram using the hashtag #rtwa (Round the World Adventures).  Simply tell us where you are and what type of exciting adventure you are taking part of.  It’s that simple and it’s that fun!  To join, just add your Instagram Username to the comments section in this post explaining #rtwa Fridays.
